Oct. 28, 2008 (Whistler, British Columbia) -- Hundreds of SRI in the Rockies conference attendees joined a specially-planned session, "The Global Financial Crisis: Where Do We Go From Here?" to discuss how socially conscious investors can help reshape the future of the global financial system around the principles of transparency, fairness, good governance, and long-term investing.

One key element of the discussion was how the SRI community can take action to ensure that the number of foreclosures on homes can be decreased dramatically through appropriate measures and great support for Community Development Financial Institutions.

A lively question-and-answer period followed comments from a panel of leaders in the socially responsible investing industry, including:
·        Lloyd Kurtz, senior portfolio manager of Nelson Capital Management;
·        John Olson, community development manager of the Federal Reserve Bank at San Francisco;
·        Deborah Momsen-Hudson, Center for Responsible Lending and vice president of Self Help Credit Union;
·        Winston Hickox, former senior portfolio manager of Environmental Investment Initiatives for CalPERS; and
·        Tom Kuh, former teaching fellow in economics at Harvard University and managing director of KLD Indexes.

"It was a unique opportunity for SRI leaders to strategize on integrating the principles of socially and environmentally responsible investing - such as responsible corporate governance - into the nation's financial infrastructure moving forward," said Lisa Woll, chief executive officer of the Social Investment Forum (SIF).
