Our Work

The Social Investment Forum is the U.S. national nonprofit membership association for professionals, firms and organizations dedicated to advancing the practice and growth of socially responsible investing (SRI).  Critical to responsible investment practice is the consideration of environmental, social and corporate governance criteria in addition to standard financial analysis.  Forum members support SRI through portfolio selection analysis, shareholder advocacy and community investing.

The 500 members of the Social Investment Forum include investment management and advisory firms, mutual fund companies, research firms, financial planners and advisors, broker-dealers, banks, credit unions, community development organizations, non-profit associations, and pension funds, foundations, Native American tribes and other asset owners.

SIF's wide variety of programs to expand SRI and its impact include:

• Media Program

  To conduct media and public education campaigns that enhance the visibility, credibility, impact, and growth of SRI.

• SRI in the Rockies Conference

  To provide networking and educational opportunities for SRI practitioners to strengthen their SRI practice.

• Research & Publications

  To foster and conduct cutting-edge industry research that showcases SRI in academic and policy circles, increases SRI visibility, and provides a key information service benefit to members.

• Working Groups

  Member driven groups that focus on a wide variety of SRI issues.

• Public Education & Advocacy

  To provide information, recommend action and create opportunities to collaborate for socially responsible investing professionals, and to conduct media and public education campaigns on issues relevant to socially responsible investing.
